“I’m so happy and super blessed to see you all here tonight!” greets Fil-Canadian singer and The Voice Kids Philippines’ finalist Darren Espanto to his crowd present at his recently concluded sold-out concert billed as “Darren Espanto: The Total Performance Concert.” “Thank you all for coming here at the Music Museum to witness and actually be part of my very first solo concert!” His proud audience was yelling and cheering for joy and excitement.
And yes, this is it! Darren ‘s first, it’s not often see an event with a 13-year-old performer putting up an amazing show to his followers. It may be one of the best nights for many of his supporters. There’s so much talent that will develop eventually in the coming days.
Fans cheered for the young performer, who kicked off his Saturday night concert with the high energy, full production songs “Domino” by Jessie J and “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction. “Well those two songs are memorable for me, remembering those days during The Voice Kids blind auditions and battle rounds. It was nerve-wracking lalo na when all the coaches were making their evaluation sa performance namin,” narrates Darren as he talks to his audience in excitement.
He walked back his fans to the songs he performed from the reality singing contest namely Whitney Houston’s “One Moment In Time,” Beyonce’s “Listen,” Justin Beiber’s “Somebody To Love,” Martin Nievera’s “You Are My Song” and Basil Valdez’s “Ngayon.”
He was joined onstage by The Voice Kids Philippines contenders Giedie Laroco & Natsumi Saito and Himig Handog 2013 2nd runner up winner Marion Aunor.
Darren allowed his fans the chance to listen to his original song entitled “In Love Sa ‘Yo,” a track which will soon be part of his upcoming album, after his performance of coach Sarah Geronimo’s “Forever’s Not Enough.”
Darren’s best effort was when he slick groove like Michael Jackson in the medley of songs including “Billie Jeans,” “Beat It” and “Black or White,” as he paid tribute to the King of Pop. Other songs he grooves of are “Bang Bang’ by Ariana Grande & Jessie J, “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift, “Happy” by Pharell Williams and “Neon Lights” by Demi Lovato.
Darren has built a solid fan base that made this concert a success and for someone as young as him, he has worked hard for an undeniably entertaining pop concert and has become a huge inspiration to his generation.
