Samahang Walang Ka-Valentine topbills Ogie Alcasid accompanied by Maestro Ryan Cayabyab as they headlined this Valentine’s concert series on 13, 14 & 15 Feb 2014 at the Music Museum.
We are given the chance to cover its first night where Morisette Amon opened the stage for Ogie Alcasid. People with or without relationship from all over the town come together for a 3-night musical event attended by special guests Lara Maigue and Solenn Heussaff with special participation of Lorna Tolentino, Susan Roces and Zsazsa Padilla. The singer-songwriter sang about enduring love as he pays tribute to the widows of Rudy Fernandez, Fernando Poe Jr. and Dolphy.
“Please Don’t Ask Me” and “How Do You Keep the Music Playing” were performed in duet by Ogie Alcasid with Lara Maigue and Solenn Heussaff respectively.
He also covered the OPM classics of Ryan Cayabyab, George Canseco, Willy Cruz, Louie Ocampo, Cecile Azarcon and Rey Valera, as well as his own hits like “Nandito Ako,” “Bakit Ngayon Ka Lang” and “Kailangan Kita.” And also classic love songs by Barry Manilow, David Foster and Michel Legrand were also performed. It is indeed very satisfying to listen to his profound singing and heartwarming renditions.
