Kicking off his first ever Southeast Asian Tour in Vietnam, international pop artist Jesse McCartney is in the city—also for the first time—for his Manila show happening this coming Saturday, July 13th at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.
He is the man behind the hit songs “Beautiful Soul,” “She’s No You,” “Leavin,'” “Just So You Know,” and “How Do You Sleep.” He has since released 5 studio albums after having debuted in 2004 with the phenomenal song “Beautiful Soul”—which is featured on the soundtracks of teen romantic-comedy films “A Cinderella Story” (2004) and “Sydney White” (2007) and supernatural sitcom “That’s So Raven” (2003-2007).
At the press con held at Marco Polo Hotel Ortigas, he shares about his musical influences, his happy experience voicing for Theodore (from Alvin and the Chipmunks movies) and the magic of his songwriting process. He also mentions being impressed with Filipino fans and supporters—and how excited he is to be performing here in the Philippines.
“It’s my first time performing in the Philippines and I’m very excited to see you all,” Jesse assures every fan that he will be performing songs—old and new—and a well-rounded and high energy show.
His latest album, “In Technicolor” was released in 2014 while his tongue-in-cheek music video for his latest single “Wasted” came out early this year. “It’s coming full circle. If you enjoyed some of my stuff from my earlier days, you’ll probably enjoy this next project,” tells Jesse about his most recent record from one of his interviews.
Since the release of Wasted, the song has reached #5 on the iTunes US Pop Chart and #32 on Apple Music; the track is also included on the A-List: Pop and Spotify’s It’s A Hit playlist.
